Here is my review on an under eye concealer called Precision Retouch by Giorgio Armani. I rarely touch on this subject- here is what I’m currently using under my eyes and my verdict!

I own this concealer in shade #2 and I’m somewhere between an NC20 and NC25. I wouldn’t say that under eye circles are a primary problem of mine, but I do have a bit of discolouration that I would label as ‘mild’. I’ve implemented this product to illuminate shadows and provide minor coverage.

Final verdict at the end of this post, but here is the product in action. These pictures where taken on a day where I was particularly sallow, to exemplify the merits of this concealer.

Bare eyes (note shadows and discolouration):

I apply the product on the undereye area and a little in the inner corner:

I then dab in with my finger, and dust with a little Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder for under eyes:

And pulled together, here is the final look:

My thoughts:

My personal opinion is that most people need an under eye concealer or illuminator to ensure a ‘polished’ look, and this product fulfills that requirement. The shade is great, the coverage is spot on and it lasts all day when paired with my Laura Mercier powder.
Armani Precision Retouch conceals minor to moderate discolouration without appearing ‘cakey’ or obvious on the skin, due to the fluid consistency of the product.
Perhaps the only aspect that may prevent me from repurchasing- I detect a discernible shimmer in sunlight (on closer inspection of the ingredient list- Mica, cheeky little bugger). I did not observe this while I was using the Rouge Bunny Rouge undereye pen, nor the YSL Touche Eclat. On the other hand, those two products did not provide the level of coverage delivered by Armani Precision Retouch.

After I finish this product, I’m interested in trialling the By Terry Touche Veloutee concealer.

What under eye concealer are you guys using? And what’s the verdict?

    1. Hello Claire!
Thanks for your kind words 🙂 I read your blog and see that you’ve switched from blogspot to wordpress, like me! How are you liking it?

  1. Yes, I did 🙂 I like wordpress way more, it’s also easier to use for me (I should have started from the beginning on wordpress). I love your new layout and your pictures are so clear and professional!

    1. I’m also pleased with the switch, I love the extra functionality of WordPress. And I’m so glad you like it! Very flattered, especially coming from such a great blogger 🙂

  2. Very simple but polished. I like it a lot! I personally have had a hard time finding a concealor that meets my requirements. (I have mild discoloration like you) I tried Chanel but it was too cakey. Tried YSL but like you said not quite enough coverage. I now use Edward Bess concealor and really like it. Not drying, but not too emolient (read cakey & settling into fine lines) When I run out of this I’d like to try the Clea de peau & see what all the hype is about.

    1. Hi Sondra!
Interesting, I almost purchased the Chanel. I may also try the Edward Bess, considering that you like it!
Does it help at all if I tell you that I tried the Clea De Peau and really didn’t like it? It’s a stick concealer and it never truly melted into my skin like undereye wands (it just kindof…sat there, really).
      Very sad!

  3. Oh my goodness you must try Ellis Faas if you’re on the look out for a great concealer. Granted I have very heavy circles but its really pigmented, you can apply as little or as much as you want. Best of all no creases! Have a look & let us know how you get on.

And yes your makeup is lovely – So pretty!

  4. Karima, my makeup hero, whadya do with your eyes in the last pic dude? They look amazing. Thanks again and again for sharing your expertise, much love xoxoxo

  5. I am sorry but you have no shadows or discoloration under your eyes. They are beautiful – I really don’t notice any difference before or after – that is not to be rude – because you have great skin. That is the point. I came here to see what you thought of this as I find it pretty drying.

    1. Hey Trisha,
It’s been over two years since this was posted and unfortunately, I’ve developed moderate dark circles. That being said, I’ve never found this product to be drying on my skin.
