  1. This maybe just changed my life!! You were so sweet to reply to an earlier comment of mine, asking about a daytime grungy eye, and now this! This look is my everything ā¤ļø

  2. Golden Space Nozzle!
I am so obsessed with that Hourglass lip treatment oil, it’s the best thing I’ve ever put on my lips, including other high end hits like the Nuxe and By Terry balms. If you live in a dry climate, or have extremely dry lips, it’s a life-saver (although in desert climates or on planes, I recommend letting it sink in and then locking it in with a waxier balm for longer life). It’s also particularly good for anyone worried about fine lines around the lips, or who’s trying to reverse damage from smoking – since it’s not filled with pore clogging ingredients like waxes, you can take it well outside the lip line when you don’t mind being shiny, to let it treat the whole mouth area.
I don’t even care how expensive it is because it won me over, but for people who want to keep costs down, I suggest using it 2x per day as part of your skincare routine, instead of taking it along with you like a normal lip balm. Used like that, a tube lasts practically forever.

  3. Hi Karima!

Heather from the ask Karima posts here šŸ™‚
I was wondering if you could consider doing a “Cool toned look”
So cool neutrals on the eyes, blush, OBV you girl know a good cool toned (aka proper) contour

As I mentioned before, I have found out I lean cool for my hair colour and neutral to cool in my undertone for skin even though I can offset to warm when I’m feeling it (not for foundation I’m seeing now)

Would love your opinion as you always have good knowledge surrounding these applicationd

    1. Hey Heather,

If you omit the warm Surratt transition shade, this is actually quite a cool look. I’ve done an array of cooler toned looks (although not labelled as such):

Taupe eyes – you can switch the warmer pink lip for a cooler pink lip (they just don’t suit me as well):

      Cooler black smokey eye

Nuanced khaki eye, leans cool. Lip is also a cooler berry.

Grey toned smokey eye, again feel free to omit the warmer transition

If you have a different cooler hue in mind, let me know and I’ll work on a tutorial šŸ™‚

      1. Thanks so much Karima! I have had my eye on the Zoeva Taupe Palette even before my “revelation”
I do have brown, very slightly hazel eyes and always have a soft spots for browns, bronze and gold. Now… stupid question: but as you have said ashy browns are hard to find… are there such things as ashy bronzes? Is that a look you might be able to sit on and think about or am I swinging out of the park here?

      2. Typically cooler bronzes tend to be green shifting, like the Rouge Bunny Rouge Abyssinian Catbird. The Urban Decay Naked 3 also has some more neutral/cool bronze shades, they can lean a little plummy.
Ashy bronze is typically a cool brown, in my head.
        xx

  4. Karima, thank you so much for posting this video. I will keep practising, I feel like if I can do a perfect matte smokey eyes, I can conquer the world! I still struggle with the lower lash line though, do you prime your lower lash line? My eyemakeup always smudges on the bottom even with primer underneath. I find that the black liner from the top waterlining smudges down. Perhaps it is because of my asian hooded eyes? I am hoping that one day you can do this tutorial on an Asian model (I am don’t look like a model but happy to volunteer myself, FOC!)
    XX

    1. Yes, I always prime the lower lash line. That along with setting around the eye area with translucent powder helps to minimise migration. What eyeliner are you using on the tightline? And are you using an emollient eye cream?
      xx

      1. Hi! I am using the Hourglass 1.5 eyeliner. I have the Charlotte Tilbury eyliner too but it does not stay put as well as the Hourglass. No, I like lightweight eyecream! Help!

      2. I’d say consider which primer you’re using, some are more effective against smudging. Make sure you set the entire eye area with powder. If none of that works, look into Makeup Geek Gel Liner in Immortal, it’s very long wearing but you’ll require a brush to apply (obvs!).
        xx
