  1. You know you want to. You know you’ve been wanting it for a long time now. You now it is inevitable…
    Purple!!!

  2. You’re going to SF!? Please do a meet and greet! That would be super amazing! Places I would recommend: Sephora on Union Street, SF. It’s less hectic than the one on Powell Street. Plus, there’s parking!

    1. Not sure that I’ll be doing a M&G but if I do, I’ll post about it on Instagram so check there 🙂 Sephora on Union St is a must although I won’t have a car… Unless you strongly suggest we hire one?

  3. You are so ADORABLE!!!!! :DDD
your videos are dabomb.dot and you are, without a doubt, my beauty guru. Peace n Love

  4. Ok! So I almost couldn’t believe the metallic finish on that laura mercier eyeshadow. wow!

Is it now when I confess that I haven’t tried clinique’s chubby sticks yet? *hides*

and yeah, purple sounds like fun!

  5. I’m really loving the Heaping Hazelnuts on you…just perfect! When in San Fran you must say hi to Jonathan in cosmetics at Barney’s NY. All the staff are fabulous! Also, stop by Needless Markups while in the neighborhood. And when you’re famished from all the shopping go straight to China Town and eat at the House of NanKing! My husband and I drive from Lake Tahoe (about 3 to 4 hours, depending on traffic) just to eat there when we’re craving da best Chinese food. You must try the Sizzling Rice Soup…we prefer the veggie and tofu option. The Fried Onion Cake is sooooo yummy and pretty much anything you order is amazing. The scallops in garlic, bok choy salad, chow mein….Now I am soooo hungry! Have a great trip! Keep us posted with any meet and greets!

  6. I’m in desperate need of a haircut too haha…last time was January last year 😮 What style are you thinking of? Would you ever try a fringe?
My hair is down to my waist now and i’ve been pondering about dying the tips blue. I have never dyed my hair and since it’s gonna get chopped off anyway, it shouldn’t damage anything :p Do you know of non-permanent bright hair dyes that wouldn’t reacquire bleaching black/dark brown hair?

    1. Hey Ina!
I had a fringe when I was younger and it irritated the crap out of me lol. Just can’t have hair on my face.
If you want vibrant blue, unfortunately you’ll need to bleach the hair. If you don’t mind a blackened blue, there are non-permanant rinses you can get from the drugstore.

  7. Hi, Karima. I’m a big fan of your blog and videos, which I find to be refreshingly thoughtful, funny, articulate and engaging. Not to mention the beautiful makeup looks! And, although I’m not active on social media and rarely comment on anything, I wanted to make a couple of suggestions regarding your upcoming trip to California.

Firstly….I live in the Bay Area, but I have an L.A. recommendation for you. If you are at all interested in perfume, you MUST (MUST!) go to The Scent Bar in Beverly Hills (https://www.luckyscent.com/scentbar/). If you weren’t into perfume before a visit, you surely will be after. Browse their website beforehand. They have all the high-end niche stuff that you can’t find in most brick-and-mortar stores, and in a beautiful little shop with incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff. I made a pilgrimage to the shop last year after having shopped their website for several years, and it was an experience. One could easily spend half a day there sniffing and chatting and finding all kinds of treasures.

Regarding San Francisco…I must respectfully disagree with some of the suggestions you’re getting in the YouTube comments. You really don’t need to go shopping in the Pier 39/Fisherman’s Wharf area, unless you’re in the market for overpriced not very good food, cheesy t-shirts and giant pencils with Alcatraz erasers. Ditto for the See’s Candies recommendation. It’s low mid-range at best, and there are FAR better options. You can hardly throw a stick without hitting some gourmet chocolate shop in San Franciso.

On the other hand, be prepared to spend a good amount of time in the Union Square area. Great restaurants, multiple luxe department stores and stunning little stand-alone boutiques EVERYWHERE. In my experience, the sales staff at even the most high-end places are surprisingly easy-going, approachable and attentive without being obnoxious . The Saks on Union Square has afforded me a couple of the best department store shopping experiences I’ve ever had anywhere. And I am not (and could never be mistaken for!) a millionaire. The Tiffany store is a beautiful browse, and I really like going to the Chanel boutique for Les Exclusifs perfume line (which nobody else carries in store). Also, the Macy’s has a big Inglot counter that’s lots of fun to play at. And walk through the lobbies of some of the big, old, fancy hotels.

Ok, that was longer that I had planned. And I now have a major craving to play hooky and go shopping in San Francisco. I hope this was helpful!

Wishing you safe and happy travels –

    Stacey

    1. Hey Stacey!
YAYYYY thanks so much for this comment! The Scent Bar is so up my alley I can’t even describe 😀
I’ll be staying at Union Square so will browse and eat as much as possible 😉
      Super helpful comment, thanks again!

  8. Gorgeous as always. I’d love to see an updated skincare routine! (Also maybe one on how to deal with skin that flushes easily?) xo

    1. Hey Zoe!

I’ll do another Get Unready With Me video where I’ll talk about my skincare. In terms of flushing, there isn’t a whole lot that can be done aside from the standard: don’t use very hot or very cold water and avoid any ingredients that you know irritate. I’d also recommend steering clear of manual exfoliants.

Also, I would be negligent if I didn’t mention: there is a possibility that you might have rosacea so rule that out first.

      xx

  9. You scared me at minute 9:16 haha. I love this make up ant terracotta shadow. I bought this mask Lancome, but still I have to finish before opening other, I can’t wait :).

  10. Love this video! Actually have been meaning to ask, I need a good crease brush and I know you’re partial to the Hakuhodo one.. I have Asian eyes so a smaller crease, is there a Hakuhodo version that you think may work? There are sooo many

    1. Hey Ashley,
Are you just looking to do some basic crease work? Or are you creating precise cut creases?
For the basic crease work, I love the Hakuhodo J142 and J5523. The latter is smaller and flattened, so that might suit you better.
      Hope that helps 🙂
