Hi karima, curious as to why you’re selling the Hourglass powder?
The shade Dim reads a little strange on me, kinda like oxidised foundation :-/ I’m doing a quick post on it soon. xx
Hi Karima! Sorry if this is on a totally random and unrelated note but I thought I would need your expertise on the ‘technicalities of brushes’, if that even made any sense! Will be in Japan in 2 days and I would like to grab some contour and bronzing brushes as my Mac has been with me for almost a decade. I am keen on trying the chikuhodo Z series, or the Haku brushes. However I haven’t quite figured if squirrel hairs are useful for buffing and blending of contours and bronzers alike? would the Z2 work for contour/bronzer? Or just highlight? Of course my preference would go towards the softer alternative as i have pretty irritatable skin but if it squirrels won’t cut it then I thought I would settle on anything from the haku range. Any thoughts and recommendations? I have always love your picks. š
xx, Liz
Hey Liz,
Brush fibres come down to preference. Squirrel is very flexible and soft for the most part, so the brushes tend to be better for powders. The Chikuhodo Z2 is also great for contour. I’d say get a few of each, touch them in store and see if you prefer goat (more resilient) or squirrel (more flexible). Hope this helps! xx
Karima, will you be selling your BBU palette anytime soon?
Hey Ashley,
I sold the BBU in the last blogsale!
xx
Not a fan of the gimme brow??
jodi, if I remember correctly, she said this shade was too light for her and she now has the darker shade š
Correct, Cat š I use the shade Medium/Deep and love it. xx
Hi!
A bit off topic, but I read on instagram that you’re going to the Netherlands soon and wanted some tips on where to shop for makeup. There aren’t many exclusive Dutch make up brands, but make up studio is one. Assuming you will visit Amsterdam, there is a store there. I highly recommend their eyeshadow mousses: https://make-upstudio.nl/durable-eyeshadow-mousse It would not surprise me at all if Tom Ford’s cream eyeshadows were manufactured by the same company. Make up studio’s colours are a bit brighter though.
Flormar also has a store in Amsterdam, I think it is comparable to kiko, not very high end but they have some nice lipsticks.
One low budget tip I have as well is to visit HEMA. It’s a store where they sell everything, relatively cheaply. They have it in almost every town in the Netherlands and there are a bunch of them in Amsterdam as well. Their make up is quite cheap and their lipsticks especially are quite good. Their long lasting matte lipsticks are great and the pure shine lipsticks as well. Very comparable to high end lipsticks. Other than that, no more make up tips. I hope you enjoy your trip!
Hey Sarah!
Thank you so much for your recommendations <3 Seriously, I really appreciate the thought š Those eyeshadow mousses look AMAZING! They're a bit pricy but they DO look similar to the Tom Ford Cream Eyeshadows so I'll definitely pick some up!
AHHHH SO excited! Thanks again!
xx
You’re welcome!
Why didn’t you like the By Terry Densillis foundation? I’m looking for a new foundation and it’s one of my finalists.
It just didn’t sit well on my skin, sadly š Patchy, kinda cakey in areas. I think it would perform much better on an oilier skintype that mine.
If this is one of your finalists, I assume you’ve tried it and loved it? If so, carry on! Foundation performs so differently depending on the face.
