  1. Vichy Dermablend or brow smackdown please! Cream eyeshadow is interesting too, but I’ve given up on it because for some reason I can never apply it (well, at least darker colours) beautifully

    1. I’ve been promising to do that Dermablend review for months, huh? OOPS. At some point, I’ll do a cream eyeshadow tutorial so hopefully you’ll find those application tips helpful πŸ™‚ They are harder that powder eyeshadows though, I maintain that. xx

  2. If you need help with your Makeup Store stash, I can take some off your hands… πŸ˜‰ I can’t seem to find a way to find them in NY!

My vote is for the cream shadows, since I can’t seem to get the hang of the more interesting colors.

    Shani x

    1. Gurl I don’t know if I could part with any of my Make Up Store stuff, I’ve loved everything! I have a counter next to my grocery store, so darn dangerous. They’re not very accessible to many so I might bore/tease some of you with my raves.
Thanks for your vote, hun πŸ™‚ xx

  3. Cream eyeshadow. Formula smackdown, and what brushes you use with them please?! I usually resort to fingers, which is ok but it would be nice to know a more refined technique, and avoid the fingerprinting-at-playschool look x

    1. I need to do a cream eyeshadow tutorial addressing all those things, I have such a backlog of tutorials right now D: Until then, the Real Technique eye brushes and the SUQQU M are fantastic tools for blending out cream eyeshadow, give that a go! x

  4. Oh please, oh please, do a brow smack down!! I have not been able to find a good review, that I trust, in this range of products! (Unfortunately suqqu is next to impossible to get here in Texas) And so far everything I have tried that you recommended has been amazing so I am curious to see/try your favorites in the brow department!

    1. Yep, I think I’ll do the brow smack down first! SUQQU is actually pretty much available to everyone @ Ichibankao.com but there is a price markup πŸ™ That’s where I buy most of my SUQQU, since I’m willing to pay a bit more for the quality. They’re also really quick and reliable. Will be bringing you guys the brow smack down within a week πŸ˜‰ x

  5. Vichy, Brows and Cream shadows! p.s just recently found your blog via your youtube channel and its quickly become one of my favourites! xx

  6. Cream eyeshadow! Warmer months are coming up for me, and I get a little lazy with primer + powder shadows, and I love having the option of a quick wash of color.

    1. Funnily enough, I actually find powder eyeshadows to be much quicker and easier for washes of colour but I do love layering cream eyeshadows for complexity πŸ™‚ I need the sun to come out so I can swatch! xx

  7. Matte eyeshadow palette! Lately I am really fixated on mattes to address my puffy-eyed-in-the-mornings situation. But matte palettes aren’t easy to find, are they? I actually had been meaning to ask you about your favorites because I soon will be traveling to the US and want to get a nice matte palette with variety of tones. Is the Viseart palette easy to find? Do you have other favorites? I have been wondering if the Urban Decay Naked mattes are any good…

    1. Hey Catalina! I love mattes to address puffy eyes, too!
The Viseart palette can be purchased off Camera Ready Cosmetics, they ship internationally. The Urban Decay Naked palettes only have a few mattes (decent formulations) unless you’re talking about the Naked Basics, which I never purchased because it seems like a boring combination of colours (and like…three light mattes? why?).
Some of my favourite matte eyeshadow formulations: Rouge Bunny Rouge, Make Up Store, Tom Ford Cocoa Mirage, Inglot for shade range (very hit and miss formulations). Hopefully Viseart will add to that lineup but I still need to play with it a few more times πŸ™‚ xx

  8. Vichy Dermablend. I bought this in opal 15, but it runs peachy-pinkish on me, even when I blend it with Le Blanc de Chanel, which I bought because of your recommendation! I would love to hear your take on it. I would say we are the same colour also. I am polish+estonian, so quite pale, neutral/cool, without any sun.

I have such problems with foundation always looking too pink on me.

    1. How are you liking Le Blanc De Chanel? I haven’t put it down since I bought it!
Opal 15 does run a bit peach but I actually find the colour to be more neutral than some of my Kevyn Aucoin shades, which is why I’ve been reaching for it a lot recently.
I’m actually considered a medium-fair warm olive. I’m about an NC20 in depth with yellow tones on my body, hints of olive of my chest and surface redness in my face.
If you’re finding your foundation looks pink on you, you may not be as cool as you think (given that cool = pink undertones).
      xx

    2. I am so wrong with the cool-tone, that would make sense, re pink tone. I don’t know this terminology well! I have never bought anything from Mac, so I don’t know my Mac number :/
I love Le Blanc de Chanel, it gives a matte-luminosity/brightness, can’t really describe it. I also bought the Sunday Riley primer (your recommendation, haha!), and I really like it, I notice that I need less foundation with it on. Cheeks/nose and forehead area look so much more smooth.

  9. Cream Eyeshadow! Cream Eyeshadow! Cream Eyeshadow!

(I saw this post *after* my earlier comment about wanting a cream eyeshadow post!!)

    p.s. Cream Eyeshadow!

    xo sj

  10. Definitely Cream Eyeshadow. I’ve got to get at least one of those By Terry cream crayon thingy’s. PS: for other’s who might be interested, I use Bobby Brown’s cream eyeshadow brush all the time for both application and blending and I love it. Highly recommended. Christy x

    1. They’re definitely worth a try, I love that some of the By Terry Blackstars are low shimmer (because frost all over isn’t always the most versatile). Ooh now that you’ve mentioned it, I’ll have to check out that brush! Thank you!! x

  11. I would love to see the Viseart palette in action, and even though it’s not listed, I would also like to see you do a tutorial on the look you did with ByTerry Bare Instinct. I broke down and bought it after seeing just how pretty it looks on the lips!

  12. My vote’s for MUS! Recently discovered your blog, and it’s now one of my favourites. Your vids especially are great (because great personality) – do more of those too!

  13. ermagerd, pleassseee do the brow smack down. I have a mighty need for this to be made!!!

I want to have Cara Delevingne brows!

    such amaze, much want, wow

  14. Cream eyeshadow smackdown! I always find cream eyeshadows tricky and I’ve just about given up on them. I’d love to see which ones you like (and I’ve saw you mentioned in the comments a possible cream eyeshadow tutorial in the future. That would be awesome!).

  15. Crea

Cream eyeshadow! I love it and would love to see you use it. Your tutorials are so great and helpful, I’ve picked up so many useful tips from your blog/videos, and I love the subtlety of your approach to makeup. But the other two would be great as well I’m sure. I just love cream eyeshadow. I have a Chanel one that I love, I forget the name, it’s a light sparkly pink, it’s so pretty, but it’s sort of hard to apply, it has a weird sort of springy texture…anyhow yeah just keep up the great work, I really enjoy your blog!

  16. A review of the Vichy Dermablend or the brow smackdown or the cream eyeshadow smackdown all sound really great ! I’d also love to hear your views on the Make up store as there’s a counter not far from where I work and I haven’t had a look yet. I would be overwhelmed !

… all right, I’m not helping at all with the vote, am I ?

    1. Haha πŸ™‚ I’ll get around to all of them eventually!
Definitely go check out the counter and play/swatch a bit, MUS have some interesting shades (check out the mattes zomg). xx

  17. Vichy Dermablend review! I already picked up the liquid foundation because of you & would love to know about the rest of the range.

  18. My vote goes to MUS brand focus. It has recently opened New stores in our city. I am intrigued but no idea which to get since I rarely read about it.

  19. Oh I’ve been wanting to try Viseart forever, but I’m worried the shadows won’t stack up against the likes of Rouge Bunny Rouge, Tom Ford. What are your opinions so far? I’m from Australia too πŸ™‚ Love your blog.

    1. I still have to play with the Viseart a bit more before I review but so far, I really do like the formulations and the mix of warm and cool colours. It’s a really handy collection of shades. They feel pro in the sense that the packaging is no frills but it’s the performance that really counts, right? xx

  20. Viseart. I’m such a big fan. I’m a little scared that other eyeshadows will perform better but I’ve always been super curious to how they compare to the best of the best.

Of course the beauty in the matte palette is that they’re so multi-purpose – contouring, highlighting, brows, eyeshadows. πŸ˜€

  21. Viseart please! Looks like a beautiful palette and I’m not finding many detailed reviews online. It looks tempting!

  22. This might sound silly, but I would loove a “bombshell”-look like a mix of Victoriassecret och bridgette bardot, I know it’s not really your jam (or what do I know?) but I’d love to see a whole from base to fake lashes tutorial.

Also, I have to get it out my system, I adore you both your adoring personality (that makes me want to laugh aside you and hug you) and your supermodel looks (urg, sounds so cheesy, sounds like I’m a 14 year old who is fangirling over harry styles). I mean you’re by far my favorite youtuber and I constantly throw your name up everytime someone mentions youtube/makeup.

    1. Hey Linny πŸ™‚

I’m pinning Bombshell looks to my pinterest! Great idea!

Thank you so much for your kind words! Seriously, it means a lot and it’s comments like these that keep me posting πŸ˜€
