I’ve owned this for a couple of months now and I really like it. (Oily t-zone, normal everywhere else.) Primer is definitely a plus with this, and I’ve found (for me) it applies best either patted on with fingers or stippled on with a beautyblender.
Good to know, thanks for the mini review π I agree, a beauty blender works well with this formulation. xx
I love when you do foundation reviews! I have a really similar undertone to my skin and it’s a pain to find things that match. The giorgio armani 4.5 is probably the best match I have found but you know…it’s expensive haha. I am slowly creeping towards the end of my bottle so I need to get something new! I may go to sephora and ask for a sample of this. I have quite dry skin so we will see if this works out with a primer….Great review!
Hey Ellen!
Armani Luminous or Lasting Silk? The shades run a little differently. I might be able to recommend a similar colour π

Hi Karima! Do you prefer the Bye Bye Pores powder to Rouge Bunny Rouge Diaphanous?
Bye Bye Pores is more mattifying, so I’d recommend it to combo/oilier skin types. The RBR is very light, best for normal to dry skins.

Hi Karima, I have a question for you. The past 9 months or so my skin has changed in a way that was traumatising to me. I started suffering from acne and my skin went SO weird after it cleared up. It seems like no matter what I do, my foundation seems to look not so great, ever. It looks cakey and gross and extremely unappealing. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong and why I can’t just make it look nice but please, if you have any tips, I’d greatly appreciate it. Like could it be I’m not waiting long enough for skin care products to sink into my skin?? Or anything like that or is it just my skin that’s being the culprit and there’s no hope for me anymore? π I hope you can help me, thank you. Xx
Hey Demi,
It’s tricky for me to determine over the internet – what is your current skincare routine? Is it possible that the surface of your skin is dehydrated?
x
In the morning I use a silicic acid face wash to help keep my acne at bay, then I use a toner, my acne serum and then I’ll use a lightweight moisturiser if I’m going to be putting on make up.
My skin could be dehydrated but I’m not sure. It’s like, foundation just doesn’t adhere to my skin and just sits on the surface no matter what I do. If that makes any sense. My skin looks fine before putting on foundation but then once it’s on, it just looks unnatural and it’s getting me down because I feel like I’ve tried everything ?
Demi – just a thought, and I might be totally off base here, but some serums don’t play well with certain foundations. Have you tried different combinations of what goes on underneath the foundation? Or a different foundation over your normal acne serum/moisturiser combo? Or have you ever used a primer? It might be worth playing around with these ideas, my guess is that it’s not your skin that’s the issue but rather what is under your foundation π (FYI the hourglass mineral veil primer made me break out SO BAD and i normally don’t get breakouts, so see if you can get a sample before buying. i like the dior pore minimizing primer for my oily skin).
Hi Claire, thanks for your input!
I’ve tried many different combos of moisturisers with many different foundations and no matter what, same thing. I really do think it’s my skin that’s the culprit as I used to have really good skin before it started acting up on me which I found out was due to a bad diet and hormones. And I always use a primer, I’m actually using the hourglass one at the moment and now that you’ve mentioned it, my skin has broken out in the past few days and now you’ve got me wondering if it’s the primer as it’s the only new thing I’ve added to my routine.
Hey Demi,
When you say it doesn’t adhere, do you mean that foundation doesn’t ‘stick’ and you can’t seem to build coverage? That can be a side effect of chemical exfoliants, what tools are you using to apply the foundation?
Again, so many possibilities to consider π
xx
It doesn’t seem to stick or ‘sink’ in at all! And if I try layering, it just seems to sit on my skin instead of it blending in and looking somewhat natural but even when I just do a light layer it still doesn’t look nice π and all the products I put on top like my bronzer, blush, highlighter, etc, ends up looking gross aswell because of it. Well I did suffer with that acne breakout for about 3 or 4 months so I did go crazy on acne products? And I mostly use my beauty blender or a buffing brush. I’ve been trying different ways to apply it and it still doesn’t work. I’ve been thinking about seeing a dermatologist as its really getting me down, what do you think? X
Karima! Are you thinking of trying the Guerlain MΓ©tΓ©orites Baby Glow? Messy Wands had only good things to say about it. Hope you’re thinking of giving it a go too! Would love to hear your thoughts! Regards, Alex
I can never get a decent shade match in Guerlain π But I’ll swatch it in store! x
