Rouge Bunny Rouge recently launched their new Spring collection, Khazaria. Bold winged liner and oxblood mascara? I am all over that.

A few quick words on two key pieces in this look…

Raven Glaze Lacquer Liner

Rouge Bunny Rouge Khazaria

I always gravitate to pen style liquid liners, for ease of use and precision. Raven Glaze is no different- incredibly inky, pitch black and absolutely no dragging on the lashline. The felt tip is relatively dense and stiff, which allows for clean lines, and the tapered shape offers both thick and thin application.

For maximum impact and minimal effort (my motto!), I’ve found the best method is to lay the liner flat on the lashline and dab. Prior to application, I scribble the felt tip on the back of my hand to ensure that the product has dispersed right to the tip, this avoids the dry application often associated with felt tip liners.

Megaplumes Mascara in Oxblood Panache

Rouge Bunny Rouge Khazaria

I am most impressed with this product. If you peek in my closet, you’ll become aware that I am beyond obsessed with oxblood shades; jeans, shoes, satchels… I need it ALL. Can you imagine my excitement at the thought of oxblood mascara?

Oxblood Panache is a deep, jewel toned red. This sounds alarming but the shade is just deep enough to be totally wearable. The formula is also amazeballs (I’m running back to purchase the black version) as the biggish fluffy wand provides serious separation and volume.

While the Rouge Bunny Rouge Big Lash Mascara (used here) tends to be more of a lengthening product, Megaplumes really excels at volume. Did I mention that it’s oxblood?!

Onto the look! I’m no Rouge Bunny Rouge model but here is my take on Khazaria…

  1. Honestly, you do this look better than the RBR model. I wonder if this is a heavy mascara, since my lashes are so easily weighed down so I usually stick to waterproof formulations. But perhaps I won’t care! That color is amazing and absolutely drool worthy! I want it šŸ™‚

    1. Beg to differ šŸ˜‰ But thank you, too kind.
This one is not a particularly wet formula, like the RBR Big Lash. I don’t think it would weigh lashes down, but I can’t say I’ve ever had that issue.

  2. I seriously almost purchased the mascara from BeautyHabit right after seeing this post – and then I came to my senses and realized I really don’t have the opportunity to wear a colored mascara often enough to justify buying this. But you make it look that beautiful!

  3. Simple but beautiful look! Love the idea of this oxblood mascara-would be great if they added it to their permanent lineup. Which are your favourite pen liners-By Terry , Hourglass and Nars also have them?

    1. I hope they add it to their perm line! It’s a very cool product šŸ™‚
I wasn’t a fan of the By Terry, Hourglass OR Nars liners, to be honest. In terms of blackness, the RBR is super black. In terms of precision, I like the Geisha Ink liner- the tip is very very fine.
      Hope this helps šŸ™‚
      xxkarima

  4. You look fantastic! I’ve never seen oxblood mascara before, but it is amazing. By the way, what do you think of RBR glassy gloss? I’m really tempted to get one, but it would have to be a fantastic gloss to get me to pay the RBR prices.

    1. I’m not a huge gloss fan in general, I prefer lipsticks. That being said, I do like the RBR Glassy Gloss- it’s not too sticky and they don’t dry out my lips. xx

  5. Just discovered your blog and I am in LOVE! Your work is beautiful and I adore your looks šŸ™‚ How on earth do you make such a perfect eyeliner flick? Can you recommend a cheaper alternative liquid liner? Thanks X

    1. Hey Nastassia šŸ™‚ Thank you thank you! I’m glad you’re enjoying the blog šŸ™‚ Winged eyeliner is just about practice, try to look straight ahead in the mirror when mapping out your wing. For a cheaper alternative, I love the Physicians Formula Eye Booster (make sure you get the shade extra black because the regular black is more of a charcoal). Hope this helps! xxkarima

  6. Aaaaargh! MUST. NOT. BUY. ANOTHER. MASCARA. My bathroom is verging on overflow. I might find myself on a Makeup Hoarder’s reality episode.
I’m hearing your recommendation for the GA Silks in my sleep now, I think. Unless I try one, we may need an intervention. Actually, if I purchase another foundation, we’ll for sure need an intervention (drool escapes the corner of my mouth).
If I keep reading this blog I’ll end up like Commissioner Dreyfus, wearing a straight jacket in a padded room writing “More Rouge Bunny Rouge” on the wall with my toes. Did I just date myself? Does anyone else have a weakness for Peter Sellers’ Pink Panther movies?
