This look features dusty rose tones using new makeup goodies from Chanel, Dior, Hourglass and drugstore makeup, too! I think it would be such a pretty bridal look if you’re wanting something a little more sultry! Very neutral and wearable 🙂

  1. Pretty pretty colors! I love that eyeshadow palette–definitely plan to check that out! Would that foundation (that looks beautiful on your skin, btw) work for combination skin, do you think? Mine is dry in cooler weather, but tends more combo/slightly oily in the t-zone during hot Georgia summers. I’m always on the lookout for something that doesn’t look like the Sahara on my face but still sticks there without slicking off. Thanks so much! Love watching your videos!

  2. wow! all the colors you chose work together SO WELL. i love that color story and it is one i would be happy wearing all the time! mauvey deliciousness!
i tried the NARS Audacious in a different shade and it felt too dry on my lips šŸ™
i always love your first impressions videos!!
    xo sj

  3. I love this look, Karima. Simple, sultry, and something you can wear during the day or nighttime! šŸ™‚

I am also wondering why the Hourglass eyeshadow palettes get mixed reviews online when so many YouTubers say the eyeshadows are super blendable?

PS your chatty first impressions are missed!

    1. Glad you liked it, Elaine!

In regards to the Modernist palettes, I think some of the palettes perform better than others which may account for the mixed reviews. Also, they’re prone to fallout because the formula is so soft but I always dust off the excess on my wrist before application, so that is less of an issue for me but potentially a challenge for the consumer.

      xx

  4. Hi Karima, do you have any advice for someone who has really sensitive, watering eyes? Is frustrating, the outer corner of my eyes spoils my make up even when I use Suqqu and Hakuhodo tools šŸ™

    1. How old is the makeup you’re using?

If it’s not super old, it could be that you’re allergic to certain animal hairs, or you could be allergic to certain ingredients in your makeup.

      1. Thanks Shelly, but the make up is brand new, and my allergy tests were negative… Good idea, though. XOXO!

  5. Very pretty! LOVE the Hourglass shadows and the liquid bronzer; do you know if it’s coming to the States? Haven’t seen it in drugstores here. xx

  6. Beautiful! You make everything look so easy.

Would you consider filming a tutorial on the Louis Vuitton Spring 2012 makeup!? I know you have a post on it but maybe you can do an updated video version using different products/showing how you achieved he look. It’s one of my all time fave makeup looks.

  7. Hi Karima
I’ve started tight lining my eyes after seeing what a huge difference it makes to my eyes (I have small hooded eyes) but can’t seem to find a liner that doesn’t transfer to my lower waterline. I’ve tried pencils and gel liners but they all end up transferring and muddying up my clean waterline. Any transfer resistant recommendations?

    1. Hey Christina,
I’m actually compiling a longwear eyeliner smackdown right now. The most transfer resistant eyeliner I’ve come across is the Makeup Geek Immortal Gel Liner, applied to the tightline with a precision brush.
      xx

  8. Daymn, I knew those Hourglass eye palettes would actually be awesome despite the meh reviews. Infinity was love at the first sight of the swatches, so I’m happy to have your enabling seal of approval! You’ve created a really beautiful look here (as ever).
