  1. the Viseart pallette is DA BOMB!!! it is such a workhorse and i love it so much!! love this look! not sure if those of us in the 40+ crowd can pull off yellow like you young girls ๐Ÿ™‚ but this would be gorgeous with a very soft shimmery gold or pink for the older ladies. the THREE eyeliner you used has gorgeous complexity. what do you think of wear-time of the formulation? also – the lashes you used are stunning. must have some! love these vids Karima!!! keep em coming!! xoxo sj ps just got my Tom Ford Spring eyeshadows today and the Indigo is very very pretty!

    1. I totally agree! Such a workhorse in my collection ๐Ÿ™‚

I’ve had some subscribers tag me in their recreations and I can safely say that 40+ people are totally rocking a bit of yellow (perhaps not as intense as mine but hey), warms my heart ๐Ÿ™‚

The THREE eyeliners are very long wearing, actually. Not great for tightening since they have shimmer which can irritate but otherwise, you can’t beat that COMPLEXITY <3

OMG after you wrote this comment, I searched for that Tom Ford shadow. WANTTTT. I'm trying to get a friend in the US to track it down for me, never know if collections are gonna come to Aus. Is there only one new cream eyeshadow shade?

      xx

      1. ok, your reports of 40+ ladies going for the yellow with success has me really tempted to try it myself!! i don’t have a yellow shade, sadly, but i did try it with gold after mentioning it in my comment and it was amazeballs. i need to get an instagram account so i can share ๐Ÿ™‚

Tom Ford update – the Indigo is EXTREMELY pretty, but the formulation is not up to the standards of TF’s other shadows ๐Ÿ™ my other TF shadows blend so nicely but this applies a bit patchy, and because the shade is so dark it emphasizes this. i’ve tried it with a primer and also using your trick of putting down a layer of flesh toned shadow for blending first. but not great results. super disappointing, especially because i adore the color. i’m anxious to hear if other ladies had a similar experience or if i am an anomaly. the jade duo is also GORGEOUS – i haven’t tried it yet so don’t know if it has same application issues. i’ll report back.

only one cream eyeshadow shade – it’s a green-ish brown. lots of complexity — i really like the shade a lot, although it is an odd shade for a SPRING collection….. but what do i know? i snapped it up and will be putting it in heavy rotation this fall :p

      2. Yellow gold makes for a more wearable substitute than yellow! If you end up getting and instagram, lemme know your username so I can stalk you ๐Ÿ˜‰

Pity about the Indigo… Jade sounds gorgeous (although greens hate me, I can wear red and yellow but GREEN, oh no).

Is the cream colour for eyes up to the usual standard in formula?? *prays*

        xx

      3. YES! the cream colour formulation is up to the usual standards!! AMAZING!!!! and it is absolutely gorgeous on – really fantastic complexity. reminds me a bit of ByTerry Bronze Generation Kohl, if you are familiar with that.

i wish they would re-release the cream colour in the pink shade!!!! ๐Ÿ™

red and yellow are gorgeous on you, but green is ghastly? that’s — AWESOME!! ๐Ÿ™‚

tried again with the Indigo and FAIL again. i don’t know how the SA made it look so gorgeous on me in the store. i guess i have to trek back there and get some tips, or else return it, which i absolutely HATE doing.

      4. ok i can’t believe i’m spamming your post with all this Indigo application nonsense ๐Ÿ™‚ but this is important business!!! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

i decided to give Indigo ONE more attempt last night and was met with — SUCCESS! apparently the trick is that you can’t blend at all. seriously not even a little bit. you have to do all the application by patting/packing on with a SMALLISH FLAT brush. even a *large* flat brush is patchy.

but here is the important thing: OMG SO DAMN PRETTY. seriously it is just stunning. it’s the lighter shade that makes it special. when applied over the dark indigo it has a gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous iridescence unlike anything i’ve ever seen. i absolutely love it.

  2. Hi Karima,

Could you maybe show a few of your favorite matte shadows and complex shimmer shades?
Also, since Iโ€™m a very very basic beginner, what concealer do you recommend? Iโ€™m super paranoid about the whole โ€œconcealer sitting on your skinโ€ thing. I still want my skin to look like skin.

    Thanks!
    Much love and support,
    Liz

  3. This is so cool! Totally inspired. I’m gonna try this with warm matte eye shadows (cos I hate greys on myself) and an Aqua tear duct.

I love your e/l technique too. I love doing winged liner almost every day, but it can be quite time consuming, so this method is perfect! What’s your favourite brush for doing this? I tried it with a DS angled brush and it wasn’t stiff/firm or thin enough. I couldn’t drag my liner out into a neat line with it.

    1. I generally hate greys on myself too but the Viseart greys run just a *little* warm, so I can pull it off ๐Ÿ˜€

This eyeliner technique changed my life, f’real. I’ve used brow brushes, angled eyeliner brushes – I do really LOVE the SUQQU eyeliner D brush. The line isn’t super neat but I quite like that soft edge (very forgiving with mistakes, too!).
      xx
