  1. hi karima:) I love your videos and have been following your blog. I use chantecaille vital essence thanx to you but recently heard of an equivalent yet cheaper option…the water flower fluid. any thoughts? xo

    1. I’ve actually tried the Water Flower Fluid and strangely, I didn’t get on with it. After about a week of use I found my skin felt a bit dry and parched, it didn’t seem to hydrate in the same way as the Vital Essence. You might have a different experience! Get a sample if you can. xx

  2. Hi Karima,
What do you think of the Bourjous Healthy Mix? I use it when my skin is dry, it blends beautifully but the lasting power is really bad. Also looking forward to your concealer update! I am still using my Rimmel Wake Me Up because I am too lazy to go concealer hunting.

    1. Hey Rena 🙂
I like the Bourjois Healthy Mix (it lasts well on me but my skin is normal and holds makeup well). That being said, I much prefer it mixed with the L’Oreal True Match, the combo creates a thinner consistency and better lasting power.

  3. ahhhhhh
Illusion D’ombre…..I was hunting for the Mirage last week…..but out of stock. Trying to get my relatives overseas to find it lol
I bought the multiple color 01 however, and already got the les beige awhile ago, I sometimes use the le blanc de chanel base and then quickly put on some les beige as a powder foundation for a no-make-up day lol

By the way, have you been trying out the currently popular (?) air-cushion foundations? Any thoughts on them? I bought a HERA one for myself and a Sulwhasoo one for mom.

    1. Mirage had a nice finish, not as glittery as some of the other IdO’s but the colour was not very unique so I skipped it. I haven’t tried or heard of this air-cushion! I’m trying to save my pennies and halt my online spending because I’m going to Europe in a week 🙂

      1. Guess what Karima!
I end up getting mirage as my 1st chanel Illusion D’Ombre. But New Moon sold out when I went to CBD today. Will try again lol

Oh and just happen to see Burberry having an evening event with the new launch of the fresh glow blush, BB cream and lip balm! Doing promotion so I got the little trio gift set =))

Have you checked the new chanel les 4 ombres? Which will be your pick? Would be delighted to know what are your thought!

  4. <3 I love this look! it's gorgeous on you ::sigh:: Your makeup videos are so inspiring!

I have actually resisted getting lime crime for the same reasons (you know if you know lol) but I recently placed an order our of pure curiosity. I have heard so many mixed things about the formula so it's good to hear you say something positive! Gives me hope that it won't suck. XD

    I <3 you Karima

    1. Hey lovely 😉
Yeah I was a bit ashamed of myself after that order to be honest :-/ I do like the formula though, it’s more matte than the MAC Amplified formula. Do note that there is a touch of white in the base, lots of lime crime lipsticks have a white base – not sure if you avoid that.
      What shades did you purchase?
      xx

  5. I have been immersed in the World Cup… at this moment football takes prevalence over makeup (or anything else) in my life! 😀 But in the previous post you asked about powder foundations. A good one was Flawless Finish Dual Perfection Makeup by Elizabeth Arden, which seems to have been discontinued. One can still get the last of the stock online. I have one and a half left which will last me a long time, as I use it mostly as finishing powder (I get a more airbrushed finish than foundation alone, with a bit extra coverage), but it can be used more heavily as powder without looking powedery, or with a wet sponge for more coverage.
I have been trying this new thing, Aqua BB by 3LAB. It is unlike any product I have tried before: a water based… foundation-ish thing? with SPF 40 that is invisible. It dries instantly and leaves a satiny finish on the skin – not matte, not dewy, just radiant – and it is great for me for “color correction” which one of the main things I look for in foundations/bb creams/tinted moisturizers. It does cover more than its very thin texture would suggest, though I have only used sparingly. The one thing I am trying to figure out is the best way to apply… you do it with this sort of puff applicator, that you press into a sponge in a compact thingy to release the product… That is a lame explanation but I don’t know how else to!

    1. The shade range is pretty limited, only 3 I believe. I think you’d be #1. I picked up #2 to get some more color, but maybe #1 would be better for me too

  6. Hi Karima!
I was wondering if you could help me with the suqqu eyebrow powder? I have the pen in brown and absolutely love it but wanted to try the powder for something easier.
I’ve got very cool toned skin but very warm dark blond hair so i find that the brown brow pen is the perfect shade. I was wanting to know if I should get the brow powder in moss green or in brown?
Also what is your favourite eyebrow brush?

    xxx

    1. Hey Lucy 🙂
The Brow Pen in Brown is actually rather neutral (perhaps even a touch warm) and the Moss Green Brow Powder is quite ashy/cool. I’d say you best bet is the Brow Powder in Brown, although if I remember correctly, it runs a little more ashy than the Brown Brow Pen.
Also, the brow brush that comes with the SUQQU brow powders is awesome! One of my favourites 😉 x

  7. Hi Karima! I have Chanel Les Beiges No. 20 which is nice as a light dusting over my foundation, but it’s too peachy to set spot concealing. I was wondering if you preferred SUQQU Nuancing Loose Powder as a setting powder?

    1. Hey Stephanie 🙂
I also find Les Beiges in No.20 to be a bit peachy but I dust it so lightly that it doesn’t really read as peachy. I like the SUQQU Nuancing Powder but I actually prefer the RBR Loose powder, review here:
      https://shamelessfripperies.com/swatches/new-rouge-bunny-rouge-lineup-rain-dove-rufous-tailed-weaver-tanzanite-essence-impalpable-finishing-powder/
I’d say the SUQQU is better for oily skins because it’s more mattifying in my experience. The RBR is much finer and reads as nothing on the skin, but it does a good job at toning down the tackiness of foundation or concealer.
The SUQQU is more of a conventional powder, so it depends on what you’re looking for! I think you couldn’t really go wrong with either.
      Hope this helps 🙂 x

    1. I tested Mirage in store, it has a gorgeous finish (less glittery than most IdO’s) but I resisted because the colour seems a little dupable, I’m pretty sure I have 12 similar alternatives in my collection lol. xx
